2026 has been hard with the loss of our beloved Lon Reid. Lon looks down proudly on Root 2 Music as we again made the elite finals of the Appalachian String Band Music Festival Neo-Traditional Band finals in 2026. Root 2 Music (Nancy Reid, David Frank, Mary Beth Coffey) placed third overall. Our musical selections were “I'm So Glad” (Skip James), “You're Gonna Need Somebody When I'm Gone” (original), and “The World is Going Wrong” (Mississippi Sheiks). We nailed it with fiddles, percussion, slide guitar and vocals. Thanks to the great crowd and judges for their support!
